Aerodynamic Characteristics of Supersonic Separator for Natural Gas Processing

Abstract Natural gas is a key energy source to achieve the carbon peaking and neutrality goals in China. Dehydration de-hydrocarbon process crucial for pipeline transportation of natural since water hydrocarbons would condense cause corrosion freeze-blockage pipeline. The supersonic separator innovative low-temperature separation equipment characterized by simpler structure higher refrigeration efficiency than traditional device. In this paper, numerical analysis employed predict performance separator. results show that can reach an advanced level compared with others. cannot start-up as inlet-outlet pressure ratio lower than1.29, minimum needed normal work 1.39. Under operating conditions, total loss about 25.4%, temperature 213K, mean rotation speed 170m/s.
